I believe not knowing the Chinese army moving south is one of the greatest military blunders. General MacArthur had his HQs in Japan which did not facilitate good leadership at the front and he had a pet MG who was given a division. The other division commanders despised him. When General Ridgeway took command, he immediately went to the front to direct his divisions and get an operational perspective.
