LTC Eric Udouj for a country that wants to feel honor above all else (maybe not as much as Japan, but close), China does not want to concede any form of defeat. While this isn't technically a defeat - no loss of land, no loss of life. It isn't really a win for them, either. They did not accomplish what they set out to do. India does not need a 2-front battle (Pakistan/China).

China was allowed to save face and back down and declare they got what they wanted... important note on "how to" do an off-ramp. We have little patience and much hysteria driving even short term solutions... and allow those to effect out mid and long term...

LTC Eric Udouj - China always has been good at the long game. A lesson we seem to never to be able to learn from them.
