My thought; If You have to have a permit, You have been De Facto registered as a handgun owner. I went further and turned in a spent shell casing to the Sheriff for ballistics purposes. I know I'm on some lists. You do what You must to remain a legal owner and to carry across state lines when traveling. It's Your decision.

Frankly I find it offensive we are so cavalier about paying for the right to ask permission to carry a weapon of our choice in a manner we choice in any form. Yes yes I know bad people...guns....DV....scary things happen.
Fact is criminals do not care about registration and DV happens because the person is out of control so anything will work. Registered firearms in my opinion are unconstitutional - and it is about time we start looking hard at what we have given up on our rights since the 70s.
