You watch though, sir. They'll come up w/ a reason to hate him, even though they liked him 2 days ago. Seems to be the M.O. today.

Who's they and why have "they" liked him until two days ago? He's been pretty disliked by the left since he screwed up the ACH by forcing the removal of the public option which made him unelectable in his home state of CT, a left leaning state.
In fact, you can find several instances of me panning him here on RP long before two days ago.

Who liked him two day Ago? WTF? He left the Democratic party long ago and has been an opponent for many years.
Where did you get the idea that liberals or Democrats have liked this man 2 days ago, or even 10 Years ago? Please make the falsehood not so glaringly dumb

I like how everyone blatantly assumes that when I use the term "they" that it means only Democrats. Did I get too close? My bad. I'll make sure I'm more clear on my statements. Let me go find my rainbows & unicorns so as not to offend anyone.

Joe Lieberman seems to be a good guy & a smart guy. But he's a politician, not a cop, not an administrator, not even a prosecutor. There are better candidates out there with experience in criminal justice, who've succeeded in complex leadership roles. Appointing Joe Lieberman to run the FBI would be a purely political decision &, in the long run, detrimental to the Agency & to our Nation.

SPC Parmenter, I agree, they need a person with Law Enforcement and investigative background and maybe add a Law degree to that , NOT a politician.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - You must not know much about Mr. Lieberman.
Though being a state Attorney General does not necessarily qualify as Law Enforcement, I do believe that he (Mr. Lieberman) can investigate with the best of them (and publish his research and findings), that he graduated from Yale Law School, and is currently licensed as an attorney (in New York at least)(interesting that his law practice area is white collar crime and investigations).

I don't have a problem with Lieberman. He seems to be a very decent fellow, and I don't hold a grudge against him for being AlGore's running mate. The FBI needs someone, anyone, who can lead them and keep them headed in the right direction, regardless of political affiliation.

Since the position of FBI Director is an appointed position, it is and always will be a political appointment, and senior agents advise whomever is in the position. Lieberman has been a State Attorney General and he'll do fine.

Comey's problem was that his ego was bigger than his brain housing group.
I don't much care who gets named director, if its Lieberman, thats fine. If its a senior agent, that's fine too. The only thing I ask is whoever is named be a decent person who have the FBI straighten up and fly right.
