As if 99 years of milestones weren't enough, World War II Army veteran Emerald Nelson thought he'd mark one more—his 100th birthday.
Emerald was honored at the IBEW Local 68 union hall in Denver on Saturday, where more than a hundred of his friends and family celebrated a life that the 100-year-old said was very fulfilling.
"It's been a good life. I'll tell you that," he said.
Emerald still lives on his own, though his son, Ted Nelson, checks on him regularly.
