Yeah. After all he went through in the war, then became a Marine aviator and died in a crash at Gettysburg in '22. . . .

I would say that World War 1 was the worst for the troops involved, Vietnam was bad, but WW1 Was much worse. There is movie out on DVD called They Shall Not Grow old, also The Lost Battalion. Both movies are well wroth watching.
