Man Steals Plane And Crashes After 'Unauthorized Takeoff' From Seattle Airport

The man who stole a plane with no one else on board from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport late Friday has been identified as Richard Russell, 29, according to two unnamed law enforcement sources. He flew the plane for about an hour before crashing into a forest on a nearby island.

I can't believe they couldn't get a q400 tail section picture. F-15 Jets followed the stolen turboprop. Do you think the insurance company will be able to deny paying out on this aircraft being destroyed because it was take a note on it and an authorized one way trip to be destroyed in Puget Sound? A retired Colonel friend of mine who used to be in a Cav Squadron and with lots of experience being a passenger in a Huey helicopter said that he knew of crew chiefs who could takeoff and hover a huey almost as good as an actual pilot by just observing how the pilots manage the controls. He did say that he did play video games so it's possible that he may have had some video game Simulator for flying planes with all the basic controls. He did a pretty good job for a novice doing a barrel roll. I just didn't know that the turboprop would not stall out. I guess because it must be a fuel injected turboprop, it could do acrobatic Maneuvers head not cut out and lose power. What a mess for Horizon Air. They must have to review their policies. Hopefully, they'll be no more copycat suicides buy stressed out mechanics at Horizon Air.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel pretty crazy day for Horizon and those people observing and for the people on that private island that had to deal with a plane crashing nearby. They'll probably make a movie similar to vanishing point with that pilot crashing into the island just like the guy crashing into those tractors at the end of vanishing point.
