That's unfortunate. Maybe we need some other marking that clearly identifies the wearer as a military member...

Lt Col Charlie Brown At my school they are allowed to wear the uniform if they have completed boot camp. If they are enlisted already, they have a cord they wear to indicate they have committed to join the armed forces.

I was just like these two, I had completed basic prior to walking for my HS graduation and I did not need something special at graduation for people to know I was military. If you carry yourself and act a certain way people will know. My sr picture in my HS yearbook has me in uniform and thirty-one years later it would not surprise anyone I served and retired from the Army Nurse Corps, exactly what was printed in the yearbook I said I would do. I wore class b under my gown and my E2 rank could be clearly seen on my collar. I do not believe these marines need anything special

I suggest that all branches of service create their Own Graduation gown with the Branch of Service that you was in,And Make it by Law to wear st such events cause this will also give Young men and young women a outlook to what could be next

I attended basic after my jr in HS and wore class B under my gown. I do not quite get it that people would be proud of membership in an elite organization (USMC) that has standards and expectations then expect the school to change their policies for you.
