I used to play taps in grade school with a few other trumpet players every time a soldier was killed in the Gulf War. Maybe i should pick that trumpet back up and teach my kids.

I think you should! There's nothing more special at a funeral with military honors then a live version of Taps being rendered! At my Dad's Memorial Service the then current President of the 94th ID Historical Association( son of a former fellow WWII Veteran) drove from Western TN to NE GA and played it live at the conclusion of the flag folding...

WOW...brought a tear to my eye. When I was in school, I played trumpet, and I know the bugle is so much harder (all ear and embacher, no keys).
