CPT Seid Waddell great post heck of a record that then Commander O'Kane accumulated with his crew! I remember first hearing about him in a book my grandfather was reading when I was a kid.

Capt Seid Waddell Submarine duty, when it was a very good probability that you were not coming back from it. Ironic that it is believed he was sunk by his own torpedo. I imagine that the the horrors dealt with after capture were inhumane being that he and his crew represented a major loss to Japanese shipping, when things were turning bad for Japan.
