Unless it has changed, a victim can ask for an informal and formal investigation for sexual infractions. The informal investigation is settled within the unit. The formal investigation goes to the Commanding General's staff. I saw a case of an E-8 was hitting on a female E-4, and she asked for a formal investigation. He was out of the army in 10 days.
