It is quite interesting for two reasons:
1. It did not name the employee, apparently the board member knows the executives well enough to be able to identify them.
2. Who tears a piece of paper in the manner that this one was torn? Especially if they are unhappy. What was someone doing, using it for scratch paper?
Last but not least, there has to be a lot more to this story that has nothing to do with the elected politician. So what is it?

So she gave up. NPR is really trying to justify their existence. Maybe if the quit paying the top people 6 figures it would help.
