That’s pretty cool, Chip. I love hearing the personal histories of our military members from way back. I like to contrast and compare stuff like that with what my experiences have been.

I was a police officer at NETC in 87/88 and loved visiting the museum at lunch. The museum is one of the best in the state. The fact that the grounds and the waters edge are historic couple with Fort Adams close by make it a great place to visit in the summer.
**It was not unusual nor was it a regular occurrence to find a training mine or a test torpedo on one of the beaches.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Ive seen the uniform several times Chip. I can walk to the museum form my house and usually take anyone i know who is interested in the the museum there as I do have base access. Its a great museum. Another gerat museum that I am involved with and has a lot of Naval history on display is the Artillery Company of Newport where I am the Adjutant. Its the nations oldest continuously operating militia operating under its original 278 year old charter, changed slight to reflect our allegiance to the united States. http://www.newportartillery.org We even have Chester Nimitz' uniform!
