Thank you for bringing this to the attention of our fellow service members. "Leave no man behind" is a sentiment that apparently only works on the battlefield. It needs to be re-purposed to engage all of us in seeing that both active duty and returned vets are protected from the wounds of unpaid and unpayable medical debt.
As a veteran of the Debt Industry as well as the US Military, I have reached out to my professional friends to learn that there is $1BB (yes, BILLION) in medical debt owed by vets. They will work with me to buy, purchase and ABOLISH this debt if enough people chip in to make that happen.
