Rp Members~I was going to write this story over but it is simply is to good. "No matter whether you are located within the U.S. or overseas, there is no rest for either active or separated military personnel from medical debt.
Just this last week I spent phone time with a young man three hours north of me who is struggling with three different collection agencies over a number of medical bills totalling over $20,000. Given a low-paying job, wife and kid, this debt is clearly uncollectible - even if it were correct. He will never know thanks to the run-around he gets from the VA.

Thank you for bringing this to the attention of our fellow service members. "Leave no man behind" is a sentiment that apparently only works on the battlefield. It needs to be re-purposed to engage all of us in seeing that both active duty and returned vets are protected from the wounds of unpaid and unpayable medical debt.
As a veteran of the Debt Industry as well as the US Military, I have reached out to my professional friends to learn that there is $1BB (yes, BILLION) in medical debt owed by vets. They will work with me to buy, purchase and ABOLISH this debt if enough people chip in to make that happen.
