Good. He survived while others died. He should be locked away. I have no sympathy for this type of thing - not when you're a Sailor. Everywhere you throw a stick and 99% of the contacts in your phone, are resources to ensure you don't have to drive drunk. We get training on this what seems like every month.. I'm so sick of hearing about DUIs. There is absolutely zero reason behind any of them..

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - That's no joke. Used to cross it daily when i was at NSGA San Diego on NAS North Island. When there was an accident or if someone got out of their car and threatened to jump it would be complete gridlock.

For something this dumbass did, his first line supervisor and Chief are getting their asses reamed over something they had no clue was about to happen. I hope his ass is stuck in that wheelchair for life, and he does the FULL 24 years. Not for the asschewing they got, but for the reckless action he took that claimed lives and for those still living, ruining theirs. I have a feeling a civil suit again the state is brewing, with the comment "On Tuesday, Sen. Ben Hueso, D-San Diego, pledged to make improving safety on the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge a top priority. He said the iconic bridge has become synonymous with a loss of life from vehicle crashes and suicide. Hueso called on Gov. Jerry Brown for more resources to improve safety and prevent suicides, such as guardrails or higher sides". This tells me they knew it could happen, it has happened, and will happen again. Negligence = a large settlement that won't bring lives back.
