New Dry Dock Photos Show the Scope of Hidden USS Fitzgerald Damage

Some images from the destroyer USS Fitzgerald in dry-dock in Japan, its homeport. The images are interesting as you can really blow them up big to really see the extent of the damage above and below waterline. Such a horrible loss of life of young sailors. My heart goes out to their families and may they rest in peace as they served their country well.

Why is the Navy allowing photos to be taken at the graving dock? How many other photos are being taken of the ship up close? A lot can be learned from supposedly innocent photos.

Not blaming you. Photos are already public. Just wonder why the Navy allows such up close photos to be released. I was in the graviing dock at the Brooklyn Navy Shipyard and never took a photo of the ship in the hole. Didn't seem right. It's like taking pictures of your wife covered in dirt before she takes a shower.
