We had pretty good jungle boots back in the 60s in Vietnam,I don't know if it was my unit but we could seldom get socks or replacement jungle fatigue pants( the crotch area always seemed to rot out for some reason) we did receive plenty of crappy jamming M16s and rucksacks though ,guess the REMFs did not have too much use for those items, boy this turned out to be another long old man's story, must be the senility setting in again!

That's great. Ya know what else would rock? Judging by the picture, we still haven't perfected a pair of fatigue trousers with a crotch that won't blow out when saturated. BDU, ACU, OCP, doesn't matter.

I still wear the old style jungle boots in the summer. Comfortable as heck when broke in.
