As a SCUBA diver, I can say not being exposed to the (cold) water will make SEALs more ready to conduct their missions once they get there. Being exposed to cold water for long periods of time WILL degrade anyone's performance, regardless of your stature before immersion in water. This is a great advance in technology.

Seems like something like that would belong to the boat, not the SeALs, and they'd have a couple of qualified submariners on it (navigation and engineering).

PO1 Stephen McDermott, You know more about the Navy than I do. I'm just the messenger, but, it does make sense.

SGT Keith Bodine -Just a small aside comment from me (you know how anal I can be) the photo accompanying the post shows a Seal rising from the water aiming lo and behold an AK47 no less is this because the M4 is not reliable like its grandfather the lousy M16?or is it because it's a clandestine mission and they must use indigenous weapons,I suspect the latter but as I said earlier that's just me,good post Keith.

Naw, you're not anal. You just a perfectionist like me, lol. I noticed that too, but chalked it up to a shock attempt.
