People need to read some history books and look in the mirror. At least have awareness of your countries history. Go ask some people from South America, Africa, or the Middle East about the things we have done. I love our country and we are the good guys, but our Govt and organizations like the CIA have killed people and empowered bad guys for a long time. Bad is relative and to this day the us govt props up corrupt governments in Africa and elsewhere as it is viewed as being good for Americans. However, these govt's will quickly murder their own people for protesting. Just go talk to any immigrant from Africa or turn on Netflix and watch a show like Narcos to get a glimpse of things we have done. I love our country, but we have done some shady shit in the name of "our" freedom.

Same thoughts, better phrased than I would have done.

Some of you need to understand that Trump is going to have to talk with/work with/negotiate with Putin on many topics around the world. Starting off from a point of saying he is a murderer/criminal/thug (insert other expletive) will not allow him to engage him. Ultimately there may be no way to stand Putin down but the media and idiots like Graham and McCain (on the GOP side) trying to get Trump to essentially call him a murdering thug will only undermine any chance to try to get some sort of concession/deal with him.

We have had 8 years of Russia on the loose during the Obama years. A guy like Putin, detecting weakness, will always act. We need to be tough and smart but we need to be able to engage. Name calling and accusing him of crimes (even if true) will not advance the cause a millimeter.

If we go down a path and cannot through negotiation/diplomacy/persuasion/military threat etc. get Putin to stand down, he may cross a line and we are forced to engage, militarily. How many of you want some of that action? Almost none. That would be a bloodletting of pretty large proportion, even if they are proxy wars somewhere in the world.

You cannot conduct negotiation and diplomacy in the media nor in open congressional hearings. Trump is being prudent as was Tillerson during his hearing for Sec of State, refusing to accept Marco Rubio's desire to call Putin a murderer/criminal/thug etc. Tillerson will be the guy sitting across the able with Putin and or his diplomats.

Is this really that hard to understand?

Very interesting- we are no angels, not by any means, but I'm a firm believer in the saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Anyone willing to assist the U.S. in taking out ISIS, I'm all for it! I say wipe them off of the face of the planet, sooner the better

I agree... any enemy who does not wear a uniform and attack innocent civilians should get destroyed, then we can worry about those who follow the rules and wear uniforms.
