If the White House "PROMISES" to respond to petition over 100,000 signatures, I wonder if someone started a petition requesting:
Who assassinated JFK?
Who assassinated RFK?
Who assassinated MLK?
I would LOVE to see the response!!!!
Now, do ALL WHITE HOUSE/POTUS respond like this, or was it just President Obama???

White House Death Star a no-go
Citing the extremely high cost and an Administration policy not to blow up planets, the White House rejected a petition to begin construction on a Death Star.

PO2 Robert M. - It was a joke petition. The administration promised to reply to anything that got 100K signatures. You know at some point that someone was going to put something funny up and have it go viral to get the needed 100K. Enter the Death Star petition. :)

PO2 Robert M. - When I was a kid i was so excited about space exploration. I figured by my current age I'd have a chance to get up there but the whole thing just kind of petered out. I sometimes long for the times of the Soviet rivalry pushing us to be better and reaching higher (without the whole threat of nuclear annihilation part).
