Bad move on the Air Forces part. I agree with AFSOC's direction of doing the AFSOC recruiting scheme of doing the selction course because that fits all of the AFSOC mission sets. I do not agree with the random assigning at the end...Someone may not have the medical aptitude for Pararescue but be able to multitask in the airspace as a CCT or TACP and vice versa. Just a bad move for randomly assigning folks. Screen them prior to selction course and recruting for specialty areas but not after they have finished screening. As far as merging Rescue Squadrons with AFSOC this isn't nothing new. They were ACC then AFSOC then ACC and now they want them back in AFSOC...they belong in AFSOC so they aren't competing for resources against combat aircraft and supplies. I think changing the beret to one to cover them all is a wrong move as well...they need their own unique identifiers in their own community. IMHO.

An interesting change for the AF. I wish folks would learn how to spell Ordnance as they referenced EOD. They always spell it with an I (Ordinance), like a law.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - LOL Its appalling that folks know the difference between a law and a military munition!

Not sure what the Air Force is thinking. The concept of a multi-role aircraft doesn't work and a multi-role SOF will do no better. There have been a lot of questionable personnel decisions coming out of the Air Force recently and this one ranks as another dumb one.
