Tragic accident the Fitzgerald and then the McCain. Navy has some issues and training to work out, no doubt. Sorry for all the losses to families & the military.
I've been on many missions in the Army where we were undermanned, but everyone had to just suck it up and get the mission done. For over a year, I had 18-20 hours in Iraq on duty, 7 days a week- only break was 15-days of leave.
Sadly, preventable accidents & non-hostile deaths results in 1/5 of all US Casualties in Combat Theaters:
