PO1 Tony Holland I Heard. So Much for Law and Order. Oregon's Constitution Allows for the Governor to Send Police/Law Enforcement to Force Legislators back to the State House so this is the "Rights" Response. I'm Familiar with the Old Parliamentary Trick of Leaving to Prevent a Quorum when You Don't have the Votes to Stop a Law from being Enacted. Lincoln used the Trick when He was in the Illinois State House. I Guess by the Time Oregon became a State they were familiar with that Trick and Made Sure that Crap wouldn't Happen There.

I smell bullshit.
Democrat-controlled statehouse passes a cap and trade bill that Republicans had serious concerns about and cost Oregonions a fortune in fuel and utility costs. But they don't have the votes. Negotiations to revise the bill are abandoned in favor of pushing through the bill. Lacking the votes to defeat it legislatively, the GOP walks out to prevent a quorum.
Now I think that is a weak sauce tactic, because I think elections have consequences. Better to campaign on the economic consequences that follow such overreaches. Anyway, the GOP goes AWOL and hides out in Idaho, the thought being they can run out the clock on the legislative session. So the governor says she's sending the state police to arrest them. Now this claptrap about militias threatening cops and elected officials.
This is all a big game of chicken, trying to get the other side to fold. Ain't nobody getting arrested and hauled off to Legislature Jail. Ain't no one shooting cops or lynching politicians. Some one will blink, but no one wants to be the weakling that does it first.
My guess is the law does not get passed this session. Oregon's citizens would do well to remember this episode in 2020.

Capt Gregory Prickett and it didn't work in Wisconsin, but it might work here. The session ends 1 July.
What I'm saying is bullshit is the threats and counter threats. It is all posturing.
