This story is from Canada so I don't know if this medicine is available in the USA?
I have a couple of 20-something stepdaughters who did not graduate from high school because of their addictions to pot and drinking. Both are on welfare and use their money to drink and smoke pot more often than I know. I know veterans have drinking problems too. My sister committed suicide, in part, from her constant drinking and not wanting to deal with a divorce from her third husband who just beat her up the month before. Alcohol to make you do desperate things. I would not be surprised that many of those veterans who committed suicide in the parking lot of their local Veterans Administration hospital or Center were possibly drinkers as well.
I am so happy that this article describes Alcoholics Anonymous as one approach to solve the problem and to have Unity to weakness of others who are also trying to be sober.
This is meant to help those who have drinking problems.

Alcohol addiction isn't any easy thing to combat. I have had family members Who have died an early death due to those causes and one that was even in a 3.5 day coma due to alcohol poisoning. If there is something that can help combat that I'm all for it. Often the person with the alcohol problem won't admit it anyway and until they do I'm not sure if anything else will work. Thanks for the posting on a very serious problem that effects millions of people.
