It *used to be taught* in school! 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade. But maybe that was just how Alaska did it (where I was for 1st-5th grades). But wait, it was also part of the Hunting & Fishing Elective for HS (in the greater Seattle Area) in the 60s and 70s...

I was shooting by age 5, multiple classes while in school, and we drove around with a rifle, shotgun, and a .357 handgun. Needed for work. Pistol for snakes while walking fence line, shotgun to shoot supper, and rifle to put down a cow/horse/coyote/bob cat.....They are tools, and once people learn that, we'd all be better off....

I believe this. You never know when your child will be in a place where there is a weapon

My children were trained at an early age as was I. It showed when they all were in the military of their choice 1son as a Marine, 1 daughter in the Navy, and 2 sons in the Air Force, as they all fired expert.
