I have to feel sorry for folks like this. I guess all lying is bad, but folks who actually served and embellished their records are not in the same category as the ones who did not serve but still made up stories. Anyone who served deserves respect, I never understood the need to embellish.

But the outright liars really piss me off.

Keep up the good work exposing these folks.

If you ever personally busted an embellishment from someone who was a vet, but was attempting to get a disability from the VA, it will really piss you off. It happened and I busted him. That's when I began focusing on these phonies. I had no idea there are so many.

I have been following Mr. Lilyea's site for a while now. Has any of these sites investigated the late Chris Kyle? The only reason why I am curious why no one has investigated him and at least published a validation if he all his claims are legit. It appears that even though he had quite a distinguishable career as a SEAL he may have embellished his medal count also making some wild claims that have been called into question, including falsley accusing the former MN governor of making inflaming statements against the SEALS. In some sense that's just as bad isn't it? It seems to me no one has broached the subject including the fake SEAL hunter in Chesapeake, VA.

I am wondering if he is off limits or a "sacred cow" because of his notoriety. Being deceased can't be a reason since TAH and GoV all boast that they will out you even in the grave. In some sense a high profile guy like this would deserve to have an investigation and a discussion. IMO a guy like him making false claims can be worse especially if he really did claim he was on the top of the Super Dome Sniping looters during Katrina, that can send a not so rosy narrative about veterans in general.

Its something I have been curious for a while now. I appreciate what they do but I feel they should everyone accountable if even a high profile guy who actually has earned actual valor awards lie.

I don't know. Why don't you write TAH and ask them?

I might do that. I figured I would ask here first anyone has seen anything from similar sites.

My two cents Major, let it go, he is dead.

But I dont disagree with your point. The truth is important, even though it may be ugly. I just dont think its worth it in this case. There is already plenty of information already out there that indicates Kyle may not be the person he is(was) portrayed as.

SMSgt Thor Merich - I agree with you. I am not trying to pursue it. I see these sites with their fangs out for pretty much anyone who does this. I do find it interesting that he hasn't at least been a topic of discussion on their sites.
