Here in California the anti-gun legislation has been particularly bad in recent years. We have a ban on AR-15s now. All them previously owned must be fitted with a device that prevents the magazine from being removed (exchanged) unless the rifle is broken down. Or, you have to register it as an "Assault Rifle" perpetuating the false description of the letters "A R" which stands for ARmorlite, the company that produced the AR-15 rifle. This law is on top of the so-called "Bullet Button" we were forced to install to prevent us from rapidly changing magazines. Of course we've also had a ban on magazines (rifle or pistol) that can hold more than 10 rounds. Those of us that owned these mags before the ban were allowed to keep using them as they were grandfathered in. But on January 1, 2017 that changed and now millions of Californians have become instant felons unless we turn in or destroy our 15/18/20/30 round magazines.
I want to see President Trump tell Governor Jerry Brown that his gun laws are unconstitutional and must be reversed asap. There is no evidence that these laws impact the crime rate in any way. Criminals don't follow the law and if they did, they wouldn't be criminals. Meanwhile, it takes away our lawful ability to defend ourselves and our families. I fully support President Trump and his reversal of Obama's anti-gun orders. I also support the ability of our military to be armed at recruiting stations and military installations or any time the local command deems it necessary. If just one soldier had been armed that day at Fort Hood, the outcome might have been totally different.

I feel for you. I spent a decade in the People's Republic of California, and there's no way I would ever voluntarily live there again.

Well said LTC Erik Spike Thiesmeyer, Sr. I feel for you. I have family in California and as beautiful as the state is, I could never live there. I'm hoping what President Trump is about to do will roll back many of these insane laws written by people who know nothing about what they write.

And I'm more disappointed than angry about it. I was born here. I grew up here. I've raised my family here. I've been a law abiding gun owner for 30+ years but I'm forced to dispose of the magazines my Baretta 92FS came with because of some law that is supposed to make the public safer? Oh, and by the way, the California State Legislature has exempted themselves from all of these new gun bans. So it's okay for them to have ARs, hi-cap mags, etc. but not for We The People.

I've looked into the so called "featureless" AR15s in California and I have to say I'm sorry that Cali is so wimpy when it comes to guns. Watching videos where people explain all of the things you have to due to make them legal and it's absurd. Most of the stuff doesn't affect any usefulness of the weapon, but rather attacks the looks alone which does what exactly?
Some of the stuff I've seen, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong as I don't live there:
1. Removal of adjustable stocks: Does not affect the usefulness whatsoever. Just butchers the looks and makes it hard for anyone to get a comfortable stock position.
2. Removal of pistol grips: Again, does nothing more than butcher the looks of the rifle, at most maybe makes you a little less accurate.
3. Removal of the "bullet button" mag release: I'll admit this would complicate things but it still doesn't slow down someone with training much.
4. Non-removable magazines with a max of 10 rounds: Again, I'll admit this would make it difficult for a shooter to reload however I would be willing to bet money that with enough practice someone could get pretty quick at rapid reloading using stripper clips.
5. No flash suppressor: Again, does really nothing outside of affect the look.
I hope that he can revoke all of the ridiculous laws imposed on guns not only in Cali but other highly restrictive sights. Featureless ARs are pitiful sights to see and do no one any good overall.
