I see a problem. To designate "certain" weapons as appropriate for "Militia Purposes" is to concede the point that "certain" weapons are scary and would be outside 2nd Amendment protection. Thus, when another President rescinded Trump's proposed executive order, where would we be. No, it's better that we fight the battle here. The Right to self-defense is on our side and we need to exercise it or lose it.

Great point. The Second Amendment should have no more restrictions than the First.

MSgt George Cater, CPT Jack Durish, the left is working against the First Amendment too - just look at the IRS scandal and at the speech restrictions on campuses today - not to mention the attacks on religious liberty by the past administration and the restrictions on religious displays in the public square.
The left finds our Constitution too binding and they want to ignore the "inconvenient" bits.

The optimal solution is an Executive Order which orders the DOJ to prosecute 2nd Amendment violation as a violation of civil rights, and to prosecute the offenders in federal courts in criminal proceedings.

Interesting. Perhaps a little too specific. Think this might be a better subject for the Congress to make laws. It looks a lot like the Executive is trying to make law, not that Mr Obama didn't do that. This kind of language probably needs to be in a Congressional Act.

Lt Col Jim Coe, exactly! What can be accomplished with the stroke of a pen can be undone in the same way.

Makes me happy. If we get the RV out to Pendleton and MCRD, I won't have to leave my new 5.56 RDB in Yuma.
