What pisses me off about PR is that they don't pay taxes, at all. SHe's whining and bitching and moaning about the FREE response she's getting from the government. Nice.

Sir,
Don't get me started with PR politics, PR politicians are incompetent. PR nationals aka "Macheteros" is less than .01% of the population. Biggest fear for Puertoricans is losing their identity, but if they knew that each State has their own identity an sub cultures their opinion would be different.
Hopefully, this can be a wake up call for the government.

Hello Jonathan! Can you verify or ask your family in Puerto Rico if you have been charged a surcharge on your utility bills to maintain your electric grid? This statement was given to me by a good friend of mine whose brother works in the utility business in the United States. He said that Puerto Ricans are charged every month for upgrades on their utility bills. He sells electrical equipment and stand up cell phone and electrical equipment worldwide and he may be privy to some information that I'm trying to verify from you. It's really sad if we have corruption and inefficiency used to deal with. Right now it's taking care of their sewage, electricity, water and trash issues before it becomes a full-blown epidemic with people drinking dirty water from the rivers. I hope we have a good Marshall Plan put in place to make Puerto Rico shine. I pray for them and this weekend I'm going to go on to the local Catholic charity and give some money so it gets to Puerto Rico on the Gulf States affected by the last two hurricanes.

SSG I agree. The policies concerning PR need to be looked at strongly. I would also recommend a lower tax rate for businesses that locate to PR for manufacturing. This might just jump start the economy down there.

Puerto Rican's do not pay income tax but do pay most other federal taxes. Over 3.5 billion last year. I wouldn't call helping Americans some kind of "free" benevolent action by the federal government.

Despite all the hardships and tragedy caused by the hurricane, when this is all said and done, PR will be better off than many of our states. They were deep in debt and infrastructure out of the 50s. That will come about as a result of the USA taxpayer and reviled US President. The rebuilding of the territory will result in booming economy, if they work and manage it in a legal professional manner.

You nailed Master Chief, the sad part is that PR will actually improve because of this disaster.
