It seems just about everything non direct confrontation has been attempted in between the heavy economic sanctions and appeasement attempted by the Obama administration have been tried and have done nothing to curb aggression. I also don't think direct military action is what's needed but I have a feeling this administration is probably exploring more that idea for Syria. I hope that Iran tries to strengthen ties with us or they maybe next on the target list of countries.

You can not develop a solution picture for just Syria - it has to have a strategic one that Syria is a part of. We saw this not being done again and again in the last administration - and trying to pretend that Syria and iraq could be looked at differently... did not work...

I know they have some very unique problems but I know they have as of late been intersecting because of non state actors such as ISIS. How do we curtail also hostile regime like the ayatollahs?
