Rep. Golden spearheads bill to withhold pay from Congress and president during future shutdowns

I wonder how many congress people are very wealthy and could live off of their own Investments and not worry about the Congressional pay?

Some of the freshmen are really mixing things up. Question is whether they will continue to try and do what's right or will they be heeled in by their parties?

He needs to take it a step further... All the staffers get furloughed, too. Congressional contractors are sent home without pay. To include Congressional lunch room, etc. Hits 'em twice. First, they have to do their work with no support, second people they actually KNOW are losing paychecks.

And Congress, of course, is *essential personnel* so they can be forced to work overtime for no pay - and no trips home, either.
