Honestly, if either side expects to not have losses at the hands of the other side, they're sorely mistaken. It's bound to happen since both sides have people embedded with local forces.

The US has been sidestepping or backing away from confrontations for years now. At some point, you either have to put up or shut up. The Russians should have picked their side more carefully. Good to see the "red line" advancing, not retreating.
