Resistance forces train in the Afghan mountains

Well at least some felt enough strength of conviction to band together with the leaders that didn't cut and run. They are willing to take a stand for what they believe is right, and resist what they perceive to be oppressors. They appear to be living the warrior ethos, I can respect that. How many? Only time will tell, I expect it'll take weeks or months for men and possibly women to trickle in. They certainly picked the right region to gather in, even the USSR couldn't effectively operate in that area.
