Not Being Much Up On Actual Cost Of Military Items... wouldn't it be More Cost Effective To Refit And Remodel and Up Grade an Existing Flat Top... The Air Force Has Been Up Grading The Existing B-52's For 50 Years And they Are Still Flying... and Dropping Massive Payloads on Bad Guys

We can't listen to Crazy Cortez. We've reduced our emissions by 50% in the last 30 years. Global cooling will happen if we forgo our military because a nuclear exchange will happen between countries that have nuclear weapons. Look what happened today, India fired a rocket to destroy one of their own satellites. China, Russia and the US have done the same. North Korea and Iran probably had that technology already. We need to focus on defense, prevent Indian and from nuking each other, prevent the Russians from stealing back the baltics. We have to worry about Russia invading Poland to take back Poland. We have to worry about Iran nuking Israel while Iran secretly works on its nuclear warheads even with all the sanctions in place. While Canada, the European Union and crazy Cortez along with most democratic candidates call for climate change sky is falling, defense budgets get ignored in Germany and elsewhere all while the Russians and the Chinese put lots of money to upgrade their existing Weapons Systems and develop new ones in preparation for offensive operations in the future. We should refuel the USS Harry Truman. We need to keep these carriers working. The USS Gerald Ford is becoming the F-35 junk Strike Fighter of aircraft carriers with a budget that keeps growing and growing and problems that keep growing as well. Carbon taxes in a climate change mitigation can't wait because nuclear war is a reality. I'm more worried about us being in a war in the next 10 or 12 years then the runaway climate change crazy Cortez claims.

I couldn't disagree more with this premise. The Truman is a Nimitz class supercarrier that is perfectly capable to continue service. Why we'd throw a $4.5 billion vessel in mothballs halfway through her service life is beyond stupid. We just went through this with the George Washington too. By contrast, we just retired the USS Enterprise, which had been in service since 1965.
The real deal is the Navy wants more Ford class carriers, but doesn't want to wait until all the Nimitz carriers retire. Any spin to call it something else is straight up BS.
