I have one of those also and I spent 2 weeks in Bad Aibling Germany. So I find this Fascinating.

Very interesting story. I went to Germany in 1999 for two weeks as an MP LT. in Grafenwoer and as a patient to Longstuhl in May, 2009. I spent a few days there and visited the Siegfried line in the Saarland in a wheelchair before I was medevaced to Madigan Medical Center with a broken ankle. I missed out on the cold war experience.

While I was at Naval Communications Unit London UK. Went down to Bad Aibling Germany to hang out with the In-Laws for a Couple of Weeks (He was a Bendix Contractor There).
