Richard Thomson is a phenomenal guitarist who played with Fairport Convention. He and his erstwhile wife Linda were going through a divorce while the album Shoot out the Lights was being produced. Don't Renege On Our Love is an upbeat song despite the seemingly hopeless lyrics.
