Didn't The Crying Game from 20 years ago and just last movie has something to do with gender confusion or not sure of how they felt about themselves I'm wondering if the academy likes avant-garde controversial movies dealing with gender identity?

I was thinking, The Hurt Locker want out over the movie Avatar a few years back. Avatar should have won because The Hurt Locker makes anybody an explosive Ordnance disposal laugh with their stupid plot. And they did come out with the winner Schindler's List 20 years ago so sometimes the cademy has their head out of their fifth point of contact if you know what I mean?
