LTC (Join to see) Way Too Much about this Guy is Hokey. How Many You Hear of thrown out of the Marines become Cops or are Hired to Head Up Corporate Security for a Company? I Think He was Set Up but is it Possible He is a Very Untalented Spook or Counter-Intel Man?

LTC (Join to see) - PO1 William "Chip" Nagel so, I’m not saying I know the intel game works or anything...
But let’s think about this. Remember in November 2017, when those moron basketball players from UCLA got caught and were arrested for stealing Sunglasses in China? It was a pretty big to-do, nightly news for a few weeks, the President addressed it with the Chinese during a visit. For college kids and sunglasses.
Now, if this fellow in Russia was just an average guy doing average things...I have a hunch that there would be a far greater response on our end, and far greater coverage in the press. (Additionally, for as unsavory as we find Russian intelligence tactics, only the naive would think that we don’t give it back to them just as bad, if not worse).
Again...what do I know. But I do know, for sure, how improperly detained normal civilians are generally treated by us. And this gentleman isn’t getting the ‘normal civilian’ routine from our government or press.
Just a thought..

Chip, I've heard the story before but do you think there's any truth to the Russian allegations at all or do you think they're making an example of him is like the Chinese are making examples of Canadian diplomats because we are holding their Chief Financial Officer of Huawei on Espionage and selling stuff to the Iranians if they shouldn't have done. What do you think?

This looks like a set-up from what I have read on it. This guy is in Russia to attend a wedding, he contacts a travel agency to get info on sights to see, apparently they sent documents he couldn't open on his computer and someone passed him a thumb drive and soon after he is arrested. Doesn't sound right to me.
