While NATO has its faults, I know for a fact they can and have done things to address the cyber-attacks coming from Russia (and others). Not only has this been going on but it has been for decades. You could argue that they may not apply enough attention to the cyber threats but please do not suggest nothing is being done (and I challenge you to identify where they have not done enough). Not only have they used US cyber-attack and defense assets to address the Russian threat (and note, this spans each of the presidential admins so let's not get into a right vs left thing here), but they've also enlisted the aid of top cybersecurity companies (such as my own) to both stop and harden against the threats. Also, NATO HQ is not in the US, it is in Belgium. Most people who have work in/with NATO know this. Furthermore, my same private cybersecurity company has been hired by NATO in the past to assist with ongoing cybersecurity incidents. I was even personally requested to run the remediation efforts during an ongoing incident a while back. NATO is not a waste of money, but I will argue that each and every member needs to step up in a consistent manner like the US has since its inception.
