Climate change has been going on for Millions of years, Ice cap, Yes, at one point much of what is now the United States was under a three mile thick cap of ice. That continues, imagine that. The perior of times that humans were even a factor amount to almost nothing. The threat from the Russian Government however isn't gone and isn't likely to disappear. The US and an effective NATO are all that ever kept them in check, without that just what do You think will happens ? The Russians will only do what they think they can get away with and with no effective reason to stop it just gets easier for them to do what they want and control other area they had but don't presently.

How come changing the weather wasn't a big concern during the real Cold War when adversaries actually had the ability to create a nuclear winter? Soviet Union going after United States made sense then. Russia using nukes on the United States, or the other way around, over the Balkans makes absolutely no sense and nukes on NATO cities makes even less sense.

I recall a nuclear winter was discussed. It was a given. The Coming Ice Age was speculated by scientists then. You have already seen my Leonard Nimoy's In Search Of "The Coming Ice Age".

They still have a presence in the Region. We were allowed one day liberty in Tallinn, Estonia during Baltic Challenge 97, but had to be in uniform. Lots of little green men taking photos of us.
