Russian marines prove how tough they are with drills in -30C temperatures

Is there something in the water that makes any marine from any country try to prove how ‘tough’ they are? Is the overcompensation that strong in them? Must be a Navy thing. SEAL Team 6 has the same problem. Glad I’m Army. We’ll just take your continent and give it back later. The hell with who’s the baddest. We have the longest mando training of any branch!!

That's only -22 Fahrenheit.
Add to that the campfires...and I'm not sure it's a heck of a lot different than kids in our neighborhood spending a Saturday building snow forts in the woods in the dead of winter.

Having the honor of serving with the 172nd Light Infantry Brigade in Alaska for 4 years, I can relate. Never actually "drilled" in those temperatures, we did do a lot of field exercises in temps well below zero.
