She exposed how the nation's poorest state spent federal welfare money. Now she might go to jail....

As we love to say here "Thank God for Mississippi... (or we'd be the worst state)"

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - Arkansas is right at 3 million, most of whom have never left the state.

Southerners Have Closer Knit Families Than Other Places,
That May Be One Of The Reasons They Don't Leave The State
The Other, Perhaps Also Now, Is The Poverty Rate. They Simply Can't
Afford The Cash To Do Much Traveling. Nor Move Out Of The State.
But I Will Say This, "It's A Beautiful State With Year Around Acceptable Weather,
And A Pretty Nice Place TO Live."

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - We do have closer families, but I don't think that's the main or only hindrance. My family was very close and many of my generation left. All 5 of my generation left. Two moved back. All would come back for family events until my grandparents passed. Now the burden has shifted to my parents and the family groups shifted one down the tree. I still see my cousin (the one in Fordyce) from time to time, but not nearly as often as before. I haven't seen my older cousin in years.
The bigger issue isn't necessarily poverty, but it's in that area. People here aren't impoverished but if they lived elsewhere they would be. Of course, if they lived in selected other locations they'd have a better social safety net than here. And better infrastructure... And better healthcare... And better quality of life... And better education...

Once Again, History Repeats Itself:
Adolph, Strikes Again!
Speaking Of Such; Have You Ever Heard The Sounds
Of Someone Gasping For Breath And Trying To Breath,
And Wonder To Yourself, Of Course; ~ "Should I Or Should I NOT,
Release My Grip From Their Throat"?
