Islam is varied by IMAM to IMAM even within SHIA vs Sunni. It is great that this IMAM is making this interview. This Brave IMAM will be hunted down by other muslims for not being lock step with the extreme whabbists and I am sure he has his own personal security detail now.

We have Imams here in Canada who make a Fatwa that going to ISIL is wrong.http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/2015/03/11/canadian-imams-issue-fatwa-on-islamic-state.html

We need to have more good news like this so we have a better narrative that Muslims, no matter what country they belong to, do care about human rights and don't all go to ISIL or go lone Jihad.

SPC Corbin Sayi ISIL's version of Islam isn't a religion, it is a political organization. It is a political organization that uses a religion as a crutch to justify a means to their objectives.

CPT (Join to see) that's exactly what a Caliphate is, really. A government structured around Islam, headed by a descendant of Muhammad. As you know.

But, the Islamic State isn't doing that. They are taking all of the bad parts of Islamic history (brutality, genocide, desecrating ancient temples, book-burning, etc) and intentionally turning a blind eye to the good parts (architecture, historical preservation, education, etc).

I'm not Muslim and I don't understand Islam theology, but I know history. It just appears too bad to be true, if that makes sense.

SPC Corbin Sayi - I know I was just answering your question. "Is the Islamic State *intentionally* transforming Islam into a hated religion?"

The purpose of Islam in a nutshell is to submit to the will of God in your mortal life so that you will live a great eternal life after death. One can say that can be the moral of almost all religions. Jihad means "my struggle". The struggle to live the life that God has asked with constant temptations (Shaitan or Satan).

I was a former Muslim who lived this lifestyle for awhile. In many ways, I still am a Muslim, however I am more of a Deist Quranist than what your would call a typical practicing Muslim.
