Great information.
My only question is have they removed the 'hold' feature from their help lines?

I'm beginning to suspect that the VA is only providing "lip-service" to veteran issues. I was driven to become involved a Veteran Service Organization when news of rampant problems at the VA appeared in the news. I took heart when it appeared that the VA was responding to public pressure. However, I now suspect that it only appeared they were responding because public interest (and thus news attention) flits from issue to issue like a butterfly. The problems are still there.
This has spawned an idea that has been niggling at me for some time. Why shouldn't we stick with one healthcare system for all who serve, the same one that cares from us during active duty? Granted, they have their problems too. However, wouldn't one healthcare system be easier to fix than two? Also, the military hospitals wouldn't be underutilized during peace time. And, there would be cost benefits of only maintaining one system.
Would a single healthcare system mitigate the suicide issue? Who knows? Then again, the continuity of healthcare in a single system might help...

That's some damn good reasoning Brother Jack and it makes perfect sense. Because of that, they would both fight you all the way probably. I think the VA is not equipped to care for as many Vets as there are. And as far as the staff and equipment they use, just remember that the Government goes for the low bid. Now I'm sure there are some good employees there, but they are probably few and far between.

This Is An Issue I've Been Having With Our Local VA Out Here In Vegas ~
NOT Counting The Times When I Nearly Died Due To The VA's Errors, Which Included Nearly A Full A MONTH Of Hospitalization.
1.. I Have C.O.P.D.
2... I'm On Home Oxygen, Part Time As Needed.
3... I'd Like To Have A Portable Oxygen Machine So I Could Leave The House On Occasion, Other Than To Medical Appointments By VA In A Special Wheel-Chair Van.
4.... We Vets ARE Entitled To Have Them If We Qualify.
5.... I've Been Tested And Qualified ~~ THREE Times So Far. Which Is A Requirement ~ Once Ever Eleven (11) Months ~ Add It Up. 3 X 11=
6.... And I Have A Prescription Written ~ 1 Of The Other Necessary Qualifications,
7.... It's Been 3 YEARS Now ~~ So Where's My F*&^ing Portable Oxygen Machine?

I am still trying to send you a comment. I can’t reply. This is been going on for a long time.
I think this is the sixth time, and I already complain to BROO M, and I think he is tired of my complaining
I wish I could get my old Rally point back and no one understands
My sister committed suicide a year ago

I can't imagine anyone who is not sympathetic to your loss. And you are a victim as much as she. I only wish to warn you to not be hard on yourself when the anger sets in (if it hasn't already - it usually comes about a year after a suicide). Be gentle on yourself. Most likely, you are (or will be) angry, not with her, but rather with the choice she made and leaving you with the pain of bereavement.
