News flash! just because something is available doesn't mean folks will flock to be in it.
It took us a long time to get a good representation of female NCOs and officers in the Combat Heavy Engineer units. In fact we basically grew them out of the junior female Soldiers who entered service as equipment operators and vertical trades at or around 1981. When I retired in 2010 there was still a serious shortage of female NCOs in the ranks of the construction MOSs (30 years )after they were integrated .
I saw the same deficit when we opened the 12C bridge specialist MOS to females (late 90s) and the deficit was still there in 2010 (10 years+ or -).
So no crap there's a shortage of junior and mid grade Soldiers jumping on the Infantry band wagon think maybe someone should have looked at some historic data or asked the grey beards that have worked integration and the second and third order issues encountered, and by that I mean folks that have heads that don't bob constantly a little horizontal action is good now and then.

"The Army's top enlisted leader says there are not enough female NCOs and officers looking to transfer to combat arms jobs."
I guess the SJWs in the current administration and their taint lickers currently infesting the upper echelons of our military have underestimated the common sense of the average female service member.

When the USMC did the integration testing report, they included the historical data from Canada (who has been integrated for 20 years). They found that the Canadian Army had a 00.5% Female in Combat Arms (Specifically Infantry) Ratio.
