None of them have any intention of giving up their wealth, income, position, power etc. They want to be the ruling class sticking it to the proletariat while pretending to be "down with the struggle". Marxism and socialism must have the masses from which to extract their power and prestige.
Without the masses, there is no one to rule over and to promise things you cannot and will not deliver. No one ever promises bread lines, scarcity of supply, poor healthcare and education, eating the family pet, rolling blackouts and the like but that is always where Marxism and socialism lead.

No, they don't. What they do believe is that they are somehow more qualified to rule and therefore more entitled to privileges than the common person. They not only want more, they want the masses to have less.
