Really? This ISN"T already common knowledge? The only thing that needs to be added is parents that are interested and active in school/education and recreation. That recipe should produce some decent young adults.
Back when saber-toothed hamsters ruled the world most of us kids were allowed to watch the Wonderful World of Disney and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. That was the sum total of our TV consumption. Other than that, it was "get outside and play."
