Excellent video-thank you Sir.
With 2017 and 2018 being important centennial occasions, our Legion Post decided to do something specific to WWI for our last Memorial Day event. Normally, we read the names of each local individual lost since WWII...we have long had a WWI memorial, but over the years, it lost prominence. This year, we researched the names of Roane County veterans of the "Great War" and included them in the ceremony. At the end, and wearing a re-creation of a WWI U.S. Navy uniform, I laid a wreath at the monument. It was a somber occasion as we realized just how many of our local men went, and how many never returned.
