PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - it is nostalgic to see the Navy wearing the marine version of the battle dress uniform back then. I was almost sentimental when I saw Navy master-at-arms wearing desert camouflage uniform Style but the Marine Corps and the Army had back then. For a while, even after we stop using the desert camouflage uniform your Navy personnel continue to wear it.

LTC (Join to see) We Had No Such Uniform Unless you were a Seabee, or Corpsman or Seal. Not to say there were not plenty of other variant uniforms for Unique Situations. As in say Adak, AK Where I did a Tour and we had our "Comrade" Hats. Also remember the Folks that did the Port Security in the Go Fast Boats with a Machine Gun in Manama Bahrain Male or Female they wore some Short, Short Cammie Shorts with a Cammie Wife Beater Shirt (If You have the Build it looks, How Should I Say It, Hot). In Diego Garcia I could wear Dungaree Shorts.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I met some acid arms that were wearing that uniform the desert camouflage version going to Guantanamo to guard the Taliban prisoners. So they have made exceptions. This was in the 2004 to 2008 time frame. Somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong. But I did ask a Navy master-at-arms who was going to Guantanamo.
