Lets hope these five nations lead the way in negotiations. If they can come to a deal with Iran that shelves their uranium production and gets inspectors back into the country the world minus US, Israel and Saudi Arabia will be happy.

MAJ James Woods Unfortunately I see Saudi Arabian being more than Happy to Use us to Eliminate the Competition for the Oil Business and Israel would be more that Happy to Use us to Eliminate their Closest Cousin Linguistically, The Persians.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I have a very hard time dealing with one of the most oppressive governments in the region. They are directly responsible for the death of at least 500 Americans 2003 - 2011 supplying IED's to various forces in Iraq.

LTC Greg Henning - I wasn't there at the time but I was lead to believe that we were Helping the Shia Majority in Iraq basically Overthrow the Ruling Suni Minority under a BS excuse of Looking for WMD (Which During My Time I was Helping Make Sure they didn't go to Iraq) I know that many a Time we were stuck between both the Shia and the Sunni and Neither One was Really that Fond of Us but the Secondary Excuse for the War was to Make Up for how we Left the Shia High and Dry in 91 when they tried to Overthrow Saddam. The Dynamics of War do Make for Strange Bedfellows Sometimes. I Remember Hearing about a Mexican Standoff between Our Forces and the Kurds over the Kurds Accepting Iranian Diplomats in the North.

LTC Greg Henning And what about Saudi Arabia? The oppression they instill on their citizens is equal if not more than Iran. Lets not forget we chose not to scrutinize the connections between Saudi government or any of their families. We all know the Saudis had more in connection with Al Qaeda than the Sunni led government of Saddam’s Iraq. Sure Iran supported their Shi’a allies in Iraq that opposed the Shi’a puppet the US installed in power. That’s a no brainer. Didn’t Al Sadr align himself with Saudi support to counter that influence.

Safe to speculate US Soldiers lost their lives thanks to the support terror groups in Iraq and Afghanistan received from Iran and Saudi Arabia. The difference? We have billion dollar oil and military sales with one and none with the other. So please spare us the “directly responsible for American deaths” argument.

I hope this tension can be tampered down to avoid armed conflict. Too many of our brothers and sisters have died already. Armed conflict is always the intervention of last resort.
